The Rainforest Alliance Remembers Alison Jolly

The Rainforest Alliance was saddened to learn that noted conservation biologist Alison Jolly has died.  Known for her seminal work on primate behavior, particularly lemurs, Jolly was one of the first members of the Rainforest Alliance board of directors.  Her strong belief that conservation initiatives needed to take into account the needs of local communities, an uncommon concept when she first introduced it, had a strong influence on the Rainforest Alliance as we designed our first field projects.  Read more about the Allison Jolly’s influence and legacy.
